
Orders Mon-Thurs before 1 pm go out for next-day delivery. Orders after Thursday 1 pm will go out on Monday for Tuesday delivery. Friday orders will also go out Monday for Tuesday delivery. Saturday delivery is only possible if the order is placed before 1:00pm on Friday. Delivery may be up to 2 days when put through after 1pm

About the Recipe
Milk Tart or as the Afrikaans call it Melktert is a creamy milky tart. A little reminiscent of custard pie but more delicate, with a lighter texture.

Ingredients
1 litre MILK
3 Tablesp FLOUR
4 EGGS (separated)
1 CUP SUGAR
3 Tablesp CORNFLOUR
60 grms MARGERINE
1 Teaspoon VANILLA ESSENCE
Preparation
Beat the egg yolks
Beat egg whites
Put the egg yolks, half the egg whites with the flour, cornflour and sugar in a bowl and stir until a smooth paste.
Heat milk on stove and bring to a boil
Add the mixture and turn the heat down so you don't burn it
Stir until thick
Take off stove
With a spatula, add and mix in the margarine and vanilla essence
Fold in remaining egg white
Return to stove (on med heat, not too long just let it bubble a bit)
Pour mixture over your pastry
Allow to stand until cool.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and put in to fridge...
